This past weekend!!
Ben and I decided to go out for my birthday on Friday after his parents offered to babysit Eden for us. We went to Dragos (mainly for the charbroiled oysters but ate other things as well) and then went to watch a movie. We had so much fun and were looking forward to going on a date. We love that restaurant not only because of the oysters but their portion sizes are just right. A lot of restaurants serve huge portion sizes. We each had a lobster (it was weird having a whole one on my plate), charbroiled oysters and fried calamari. Then I had my cheesecake (I have one every year for my birthday).
Mother's Day was special. Ben and Eden got me a cute card. The day before, Ben and I went shopping for clothes. I desperately needed new clothes because everything I own is too big for me (don't hate me). Our church had a special Mother's Day lunch planned to raise money for the upcoming missions trip. We stayed for that and had a great time.

Josh Turner

So I saw this guy on TV the other day. He is a country singer and sings this one song that I love. He is a berritone so he has this cool deep voice. Ok, I don't usually listen to country music but this is such a cool song and video. Plus it's more folk than country. Check it out.

Ben's Alien Flower!
Ben and I saw this plant at Home Depot and he thought it was the weirdest looking thing. It is a Vriesea, Bromeliad.

Blue Man Group!!

So Ben and I went on a date about 2 weeks ago and I wanted to share it with you. The Blue Man Group came to New Orleans and I know Ben likes them, so for his birthday, I got tickets for us to go to the concert.
We had to find a babysitter and thankfully some of my extended family lives here so I asked my Aunt. She was delighted to babysit. As we were leaving, I got nervous. This would be the first time we've left our daughter with anyone besides our parents. Would she cry the entire night? How will they handle her? Will I hear the phone if they call? - these questions were circling in my mind. About halfway through the concert, my Aunt had not called and I figured Eden would already be asleep (it was pass her bedtime) so I was able to enjoy myself more.
It was so much fun because it was interactive and we were not just sitting listening. It was so much fun that after the concert, we had to maneuver our way through the streamers. I didn't take my camera because I thought pictures weren't allowed; but, apparently they were. I had my phone but the pictures did not come out clear.
We had fun!!

We're back!
No, we did not fall off the face of the earth. We finally have internet.
A lot has happened since we wrote last...Eden is almost a half a year old; we've seen the last of the cold here; Abby chopped her hair off; Ben had to get a Tetanus shot for stabbing his palm crawling under a tunnel; Eden is sleeping through the night (yeah).
Eden's favorite things these days are: Gossie, Gossie & Gertie books (thanks Aunt Liz), sucking on her thumb, taking a bath, playing with daddy, playing pat-a-cake, and enjoying outside while momma works in her flower bed, and playing the piano.
Here are some pictures:
